Dave started his DJ career while attending Central CT State University.
Dave joined the college radio station (WFCS-FM) and worked there
for four years as an on-air personality, newscaster, program director,
and eventually, general
manager.
Dave's
first professional radio gig was at WPOP-AM as a morning news producer
for the now-legendary Charlie Steiner (ESPN, MLB announcer) and
did that for one year. At the same time, Dave partnered with some
college buddies and developed a mobile DJ entertainment company
called RMS Audio. Dave's first public appearance was at CCSU's Devil's
Den, spinning top 40 and oldies for capacity crowds on weekends.
After a year at the Devil's Den, Dave decided to try the nightclub
scene, and performed at many of Hartford and Springfield's top discos
including Sadie's/Chateau DeVille Dinner Theater in East Windsor,
Marc Antony's in Hartford and Infinity in Springfield. Dave's club
experience spanned the 70's disco and 80's dance eras. While at
the clubs, Dave made weekly trips to NYC to learn the spinning techniques
of some of the top NYC DJ's of the day. He also received promotional
music through the IDRC NY Record Pool. Dave then brought the latest
dance music back to CT and broke several acts including Gloria Gaynor,
Donna Summer, and Vicki Sue Robinson. While working the clubs, Dave
perfected his beat-to-beat mixing, a skill that he uses extensively
to motivate his audiences today. Dave was given the "best mixer"
award by RCA Records in NYC for his mix of Dynasty's "I've
Just Begun To Love You".
In
1985, Dave decided to leave the nightclub scene to pursue the mobile
DJ
wedding business as DJ Enterprises. In the 90's, Dave graduated
from CSB (CT School of Broadcasting) and worked at WAQY-FM "Rock 102" in Springfield,
MA as a morning
news producer and voiceover talent for commercials. Dave has recently
been
named "Mixmaster All-Star" for the DFK Dance Classic Radio
Show with Jay Mirabile,
which airs Sundays from 1-4PM on www.mywcwp.com . Dave continues
to remix music and perform at weddings, private parties and public
engagements.
Dave's
hallmarks are his professional MC skills, along with classy, memorable
and
fun entertainment programs, custom tailored to his clients' musical
tastes. Due
to his extensive radio, nightclub and mobile experience, Dave can
delight and
motivate any audience with his mix of popular and eclectic dance
hits and announcing. Since 1985, Dave has become one of the most
requested wedding DJ's
in CT and can be found working weekends at most of Connecticut's
top banquet venues. During the day, Dave is a certified high school
teacher who teaches technology education. Dave also volunteers his
skills for various charitable and religious causes including Klingberg
Family Centers' Annual Antique Auto Show and St. Paul's Church in
Kensington. Dave is an active member of the NE Chapter of ADJA (American
Disc Jockey Association) and is fully insured. |
